Part-Time Home-based
Inspire more children to learn and play outdoors as a Training and Development Officer, working with teachers and educators across the Heart of Scotland to build confidence in outdoor learning and nature connection.
We are looking for a Training and Development Officer to join our friendly team on a permanent, term-time only contract (37 hours per week). This is a home-based role covering the Heart of Scotland region, and applicants should be based in Perthshire or the surrounding area. Regular travel across Scotland, including occasional overnight stays, is required.
As a Training and Development Officer, you will work directly with teachers and education staff, supporting them to take learning and play outdoors and make effective use of their school grounds. You will deliver Learning through Landscapes’ training programmes and projects, helping schools build confidence in outdoor learning while developing positive relationships with educators and communities across the region.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering outdoor learning and play training to teachers and education staff
- Supporting schools to develop curriculum-linked outdoor learning approaches
- Delivering projects within a wide range of communities and settings
- Building positive relationships with schools, partners and stakeholders
- Producing educational resources, reports and project communications
- Planning and coordinating training delivery with participating schools and settings
- Managing project administration and reporting requirements
- Representing Learning through Landscapes through training and project delivery activities
You will need:
- Experience delivering projects with diverse communities
- Experience training and advising staff in primary or secondary schools
- Experience delivering outdoor, nature-based and curriculum-linked learning activities
- A passion for nature and outdoor learning
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Teams and Outlook
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel across Scotland
