Home working based in Central England. Join the LtL team as a part‑time Project Manager leading a national climate and school grounds programme, coordinating delivery partners and teams, managing budgets and reporting, and working with funders and communities to create lasting environmental and educational impact.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our friendly team on a funded, part‑time contract (30 hours per week). The role is home‑based in Central England with regular UK travel. This is a varied and impactful role. In the early stages of the programme, you will work hands‑on with schools and communities, delivering elements of the project including climate audits and supporting grant holders. As the programme develops, you will increasingly lead the coordination and management of a national, multi‑year climate and school grounds programme.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the day‑to‑day delivery of the project across the UK;
- Managing project plans, budgets, risk registers and reporting in line with funder requirements;
- Line‑managing a delivery team and coordinating our accredited network;
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and engagement of schools and communities;
- Working closely with funders, partners and an Advisory Board;
- Overseeing monitoring, evaluation and learning;
- Delivering training and support activities;
- Producing high‑quality reports, case studies and project updates in collaboration with our communications team.
You will need:
- Proven experience managing large‑scale, complex projects, ideally within the education, environmental or charity sectors;
- Experience managing substantial budgets (£1m+) and financial reporting;
- Strong project planning, delivery and reporting skills;
- Experience of delivering climate or environmental education, or similar programmes;
- Experience of managing capital improvement or place‑based projects (desirable);
- Excellent organisational, communication and relationship‑building skills;
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and complex timelines;
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, inclusion and climate education;
- Willingness to travel across the UK and work occasional evenings.
