A leading provider of testing, inspection and certification services is looking for an experienced and motivated Leading Pressure Systems Technical Manager to join its Technical Compliance team. The business supports customers across a broad range of industries to maintain safety, compliance and operational excellence.
This is a senior-level opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional with extensive knowledge of pressure systems, regulatory compliance, technical auditing and HSSEQ within a regulated inspection environment.
The Role
As Leading Pressure Systems Technical Manager, you will take responsibility for technical compliance, operational standards and HSSEQ matters relating to pressure systems across the business. Working closely with operational teams, inspectors, SHE Advisors and senior stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with legislation, accreditation standards and internal management systems while driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring compliance against ISO 17020 requirements and company procedures
- Supporting UKAS audit preparation and attending external audits where required
- Advising the business on technical and operational compliance matters relating to pressure systems
- Conducting depot and site audits across the UK operational network
- Supporting accident, incident and technical investigations
- Reviewing and supporting risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Producing KPI reports, compliance reports and trend analysis
- Supporting competency management and technical compliance of inspectors and operational teams
- Carrying out technical investigations into equipment failures and producing detailed reports
- Supporting the development and revision of technical procedures and operational processes
- Promoting compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001 and 27001 management systems
- Providing technical input into tenders and customer bids
- Supporting the delivery of the company sustainability strategy
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and technically capable professional with the ability to influence at all levels and support operational excellence across a national business.
Essential Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within minor and intermediate pressure systems inspections, including technical compliance and HSSEQ environments
- Strong understanding of pressure systems legislation and associated standards
- Strong understanding of BS EN ISO 17020 requirements
- Audit experience with strong reporting capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and make informed operational decisions
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel nationally
