Marine Project Manager | Southampton | Up to £65,000 + Benefits

We're working with a leading engineering business delivering specialist electrical and power systems projects within the marine industry. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Marine Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of projects across commercial and naval sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong maritime engineering background looking to join a well-established organisation delivering technically challenging projects.
The Role
You'll take ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring they're delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Working alongside engineering teams, suppliers and customers, you'll coordinate all aspects of project delivery while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
β Manage marine engineering projects from award through to completion.
β Plan resources, budgets, schedules and project risks.
β Coordinate engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
β Monitor commercial performance and project profitability.
β Act as the main point of contact for customers.
β Ensure projects comply with quality, HSE and industry standards.
β Identify opportunities for repeat business and future work.
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within the marine industry, ideally from backgrounds such as:
- Marine Project Management
- Technical Superintendent
- Chief Engineer
- Marine Electrical Engineering
- Shipyard or Dry Dock Operations
- Marine Refits or Vessel Upgrades
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' marine industry experience.
- Proven project management experience.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to vessels and customer sites.
Desirable Technical Knowledge
- Marine electrical power systems.
- HV/LV distribution.
- Switchgear & transformers.
- Rotating machinery.
- Protection systems.
- Marine cabling.
- Circuit breakers (ACBs/MCCBs).
- Power management systems.
- Marine regulations and Class requirements.
