An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Area Manager to take ownership of developing, managing, and growing revenue opportunities within a defined regional area. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for building strong client relationships and driving business growth through strategic sales and exceptional customer service.
As Area Manager, you will oversee the performance of any local branches, depots, or facilities in your region, ensuring that operations run smoothly, safely, and profitably. You’ll lead your team by example, demonstrating best practice in developing key accounts, winning new business, and maximising opportunities within an established client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and grow new and existing client accounts, maximising revenue opportunities.
- Identify potential new projects in your region and act quickly to secure business.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality are maintained.
- Work closely with regional managers and other business partners to ensure operational requirements and resources are met.
- Oversee the safe and effective operation of any facilities in your area.
- Maintain accurate account information, pricing, opportunities and activity in the CRM system.
- Lead and develop your team, ensuring they are equipped and motivated to deliver results.
- Support the preparation of tailored proposals and bids, ensuring all documentation meets brand and technical standards.
- Produce regular sales forecasts and contribute to regional growth plans.
- Attend client meetings to secure new contracts and renew existing agreements.
- Support the mobilisation and ongoing management of contracts, ensuring service standards are met.
- Play an active role in recruiting, inducting, appraising, and training staff in line with company standards.
- Proven track record of winning and retaining profitable regional or national contracts.
- Ideally 2–5 years’ experience within the inspection, testing, lifting, plant, machinery, or health and safety sectors.
- Confident leader with experience managing teams and working cross-functionally.
- Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of financial reporting and operational logistics.
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and IT literate (CRM, MS Office, etc.).
- Self-motivated, dynamic, and results-driven, with a flexible approach to travel and occasional overnight stays.
- Team player with the confidence to influence outcomes and drive change.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
