Hours: 40 hours per week (site-based) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of mechanical and electrical construction projects.
As a Site Construction Manager you will manage subcontractors, coordinate site activities and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
- Supervise subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
- Coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical installation activities.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and all SHEQ requirements.
- Maintain site health, safety and environmental standards.
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Issue and manage Permit to Work (PTW) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Monitor quality standards and inspect completed works.
- Verify compliance with approved designs, Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Liaise with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and design clashes.
- Coordinate site resources to maximise efficiency.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) as required.
- Manage temporary works in accordance with approved procedures.
- Maintain accurate site records and project documentation.
- Support the Project Manager in achieving commercial and programme objectives. Skills & Experience
- ONC/OND, NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Minimum 5 years' experience delivering mechanical and/or electrical construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, SHEQ requirements and ISO quality standards.
- Experience managing subcontractors on live construction sites.
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor qualification (desirable).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness with a focus on safe, efficient project delivery.
- Ability to work independently and build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
