My client is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Commissioning Engineer to support our installed base of combustion and fired equipment across the Netherlands and wider region.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you will be responsible for commissioning, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting legacy and retrofit equipment at client sites. You’ll work on global engineering projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out on-site commissioning, start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault analysis on fired and combustion equipment
  • Support installation supervision and oversee site activities during outages and turnarounds
  • Flare systems and flare gas recovery
  • Boiler burners and process burners
  • Thermal oxidizers and vapour recovery systems
  • Associated pollution control and optical monitoring equipment
  • Supervise on-site contractors and support shutdowns / outages
  • Deliver on-site and classroom training to end-user personnel where required
  • Identify opportunities for aftermarket spares, upgrades, and service support confirm work completed

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a Field Service, Commissioning, or Service Engineering role
  • Strong multi-skilled background covering:
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Instrumentation
  • PLC control systems
  • PLC programming and diagnostics experience (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • P&IDs
    • Electrical schematics

    Travel & Working Environment:

    • Extensive travel required (potentially 200+ days per year)
    • Offshore and industrial environments

    Desirable Experience:

    • Previous experience in combustion systems within oil, gas, or petrochemical industries
    • Experience with fired equipment, burners, flares, or thermal oxidizers
    • Commissioning experience on legacy or retrofit equipment
