This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, where you will take full ownership of the Quality function and play a key role in driving continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Quality department, setting direction and driving performance
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100 / EN9100 standards
- Act as a key member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to business strategy and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with aerospace and customer-specific quality requirements
- Oversee FAIRs, PPAP submissions, control plans, and quality documentation
- Drive root cause analysis using tools such as 8D and Ishikawa
- Monitor and improve supplier quality performance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and efficiency
- Develop and report on KPIs to measure quality performance
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Quality team
- Act as the main point of contact for customers on all quality-related matters
About You
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 / aerospace quality standards
- Experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Engineering or Quality qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent experience
Desirable:
- Auditor certification (AS9100 / ISO9001)
- Background in aerospace manufacturing (machining, assembly, composites, or electronics)
- Experience working within an SME environment
- Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving
