Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrician, ideally Approved, with a strong background working within data centre environments, LV switch rooms, and critical electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems across data centres and similar high‑spec environments throughout the South of England. This role would suit a highly competent electrician who is confident working on complex electrical distribution systems, understands critical power environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems within data centres and LV switch rooms
- Working on low voltage distribution systems, switchgear, and distribution boards
- Carrying out inspection, testing, and fault finding to BS7671 standards
- Completing EICRs, certification, and test documentation
- Working from electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures at all times
- Liaising with project managers, site teams, and clients
- Supporting maintenance and upgrade works on critical infrastructure
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified Electrician
- AM2 / AM2S qualification
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent
- Strong experience within data centres, LV switch rooms, or critical environments
- Proven experience with LV distribution, switchgear, and power systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- ECS / CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Approved Electrician status (NICEIC / ELECSA / NAPIT)
- Experience with commissioning and handover documentation
- Experience in live environments and critical power systems
- IPAF / PASMA
