About the Position
As the Applications Engineer, you will join the Power Group, playing a key role in responding to customer enquiries. You’ll be responsible for selecting and sizing appropriate equipment, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and supporting the transition from enquiry to order. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role where you’ll engage with clients, internal teams, and project stakeholders to deliver tailored technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Analysis: Assess customer enquiries and design suitable equipment solutions, including valve sizing and process instrumentation such as flow meters.
- Process Design: Perform process design calculations (training provided as needed).
- Proposal Development: Prepare competitive, technically sound and commercially aligned proposals.
- Customer Engagement: Maintain clear communication with clients during the quotation process, addressing both technical and commercial queries.
- Post-Order Support: Work closely with project teams by providing accurate process data sheets and relevant documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of sales documentation and presentations using tools such as Microsoft Office.
- Quality and Safety: Adhere to quality standards (ISO9001:2015, ISO14001, ISO45001) and actively support a safe working environment.
About You
- Education: Degree qualified, preferably in Engineering.
- Industry Experience: Experience in sales/proposals or related industry. Knowledge of fired combustion equipment or process engineering is advantageous.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Teamwork: Collaborative mindset and ability to work well in team environments.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
- Decision Making: Confident, assertive, and capable of independent decision-making.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
