We’re looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Admissions Officer to support the recruitment and onboarding of our Higher Education students.

In this key role, you’ll manage applications, provide guidance to prospective learners, and ensure a smooth admissions process from enquiry to enrolment.

You’ll need strong administrative skills, excellent communication, and a passion for helping students take the next step in their education.

We have an exciting opportunity at our City Centre campus to join our Student Experience & Engagement Department as an Admissions Officer on a permanent, part time (17.5 hours per week) basis.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above (IT is desirable)
  • Literacy and numeracy to at least Level 2
  • Experience of working in academic services or administration in the Higher Education sector.
  • Experience in admissions
  • Understanding of HE (Higher Education) delivery in an FE environment.
  • Experience gained in a goals-focused, target driven and customer service orientated environment.
  • Excellent ICT skills including word processing, the advance use of spreadsheets accurate keyboard
  • skills and the ability to prepare and share information with others.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and build trust in relationships and teams that leads to commitment.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to use UCAS Hub/Portal, EBS software, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to build and maintain key relationships with external partners.
  • Excellent communication skills with all internal and external partners.
  • Passionate about great customer service.
  • Ability to handle problems proactively and create successful solutions.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and new ways of working.
