Technical Theatre Lecturer (Specialism in Lighting)

Are you an experienced technical theatre professional with a passion for education? UCEN Manchester is seeking a Technical Theatre Lecturer specialising in LX to deliver engaging, industry-informed lecturing across our undergraduate performing arts programmes. This role is on a permanent, part-time (17.5 hours per week) basis.

You’ll play a key role in supporting students specialising in production and technical disciplines, focussing on LX. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your expertise, shape the next generation of theatre professionals, and contribute to a dynamic, creative learning environment. Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree
  • Current and valid industry specialism
  • Certificate of education or PGCE
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above
  • Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learningProven track record of high-quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism
  • Working as a team
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Meet delivery targets and plans
  • Accurate and timely reports and records
  • Positive contribution to planning processes
  • Proven track record of positive student satisfaction
