The Manchester College is seeking a dedicated Senior Pastoral Support Officer to lead on providing outstanding pastoral care across our student community. In this vital role, you’ll support student wellbeing, remove barriers to learning, and help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus Manchester to join our Student Experience and Support Department as a Senior Pastoral Support Officer on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Qualified to at least level 3 in Education, Social Care, Mentoring, Youth Work, Counselling or Advice & Guidance.
- Evidence of effective use of ICT systems and programs; including ProMonitor, EBS Reports.
- Evidence of effective use of ICT systems and programs; including Microsoft Office.
- Evidence of supporting learners in an educational setting, preferably FE / HE.
- Evidence of working with 16+ students, including adults.
- Evidence of experience in providing support for academic and personal, social and health development.
- Experience of motivating and affective change e.g. targeted and universal pastoral interventions or attendance improvements.
- Effective mentoring / coaching skills.
- Effective time-management.
- Prioritising workload and problem solving.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Flexibility of approach.
- Working in a team.
- Attending meetings and contributing to the development of working practices.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
