Role Overview
We are looking for a Functional Skills Maths or English Teacher to join Novus at HMP Manchester. The position is permanent, full‑time (37 hrs per week).

HMP Manchester is a Category A & B men’s prison in Manchester, England.
Role Responsibilities
Responsibilities will be discussed during the interview process. Key responsibilities include:
- Teach functional skills Maths or English up to Level 2
- Achieve performance and quality targets
- Produce accurate and timely reports
- Conduct assessments and support learning for individuals and groups
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrate competence teaching Maths or English up to Level 2
- Demonstrate positive team working
- Have experience creating stimulating learning environments
- Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, a relevant subject specialist qualification
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Ability to meet quality targets
- Commitment to obtaining outstanding qualification within 12 months
- Experience working with learners of varying abilities
