We are seeking a Teacher in Electrical Installation to deliver engaging and effective practical and theoretical lessons across City & Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 programmes to 16–18 and adult learners. You will support students to develop the industry‑relevant skills, knowledge and behaviours required for progression and employment.
Applicants must hold relevant Electrical Installation qualifications, demonstrate strong trade competence, and have experience teaching both theory and practical City & Guilds provision. A recognised teaching qualification is essential, or a willingness to achieve one within two years of appointment. This opportunity is based at our Openshaw Campus to join the Automotive, Construction, Engineering and Logistics Department as an Electrical Installation Teacher on a permanent, full‑time basis.

Role Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across programmes, using well‑planned lessons, resources, and technology to support learner progress.
- Plan, assess and provide meaningful feedback, ensuring learning outcomes are met and students know how to develop further.
- Support learners’ progress and wellbeing by working collaboratively with tutors and support staff to meet diverse learner needs.
- Maintain accurate records and meet quality standards, including registers, assessment records, quality assurance processes, and compliance with college policies.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Strong industry experience in electrical installation (domestic, commercial, or industrial).
- Ability to deliver both practical workshop sessions and classroom‑based theory.
- Sound knowledge of current wiring regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
- Confidence in demonstrating safe working practices and health & safety compliance.
- Ability to assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Experience supporting learners to achieve vocational qualifications.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to relate theory to real‑world electrical applications.
