We are seeking a Design, Surveying & Planning (DSP) Teacher to deliver high-quality T Level provision to 16–18 learners and adult students. You will teach both the theoretical and practical elements of Design, Surveying and Planning, aligned with current industry standards. Applicants must be academically qualified with relevant experience within the built environment sector. You will support learners in developing technical knowledge, professional skills and an understanding of industry practices. This role plays a key part in preparing learners for progression into employment, apprenticeships or higher level study. A recognised teaching qualification is required, or a commitment to achieve one within two years.
This opportunity is based at our Openshaw Campus to join the Automotive, Construction, Engineering and Logistics Department as a T-Level Design, Surveying & Planning (DSP) Teacher on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across programmes, using well‑planned lessons, resources and technology to support learner progress.
- Plan, assess and provide meaningful feedback, ensuring learning outcomes are met and students know how to develop further.
- Support learners’ progress and wellbeing by working collaboratively with tutors and support staff to meet diverse learner needs.
- Maintain accurate records and meet quality standards, including registers, assessment records, quality assurance processes and compliance with college policies.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate of education or PGCE.
- Current and valid industry specialism.
- Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
- Strong background in construction design, surveying, and planning.
- Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
- English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above.
- Ability to teach construction technology, measurement and costing, design principles, and project planning.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and technical drawing interpretation.
- Knowledge of quantity surveying principles.
- Understanding of building regulations and planning processes.
- Ability to deliver analytical tasks and report writing.
- Experience supporting coursework and employer-set projects.
- Ability to link academic content with industry practice.
- Strong organisational and learner support skills.
