UCEN Manchester is seeking a dedicated Graduate Advisor to provide guidance, mentorship, and tailored support to our diverse higher education learners. This rewarding role involves working closely with students to enhance their academic, personal, and career development. We have an exciting opportunity at our City Centre Campus in Manchester to join our Student Experience & Engagement department as a Graduate Advisor on a fixed term (12 months), full time (35 hours per week) basis.

Role Responsibilities: To deliver aspirational workshops and mentoring projects to inspire young people to think about higher education as an option for their future.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Higher Education qualification (such as a degree, HND or Foundation Degree).
  • Knowledge of the routes into Higher Education.
  • Experience of providing advice and guidance to school or college pupils.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience of working with and making presentations to young people.
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of enquiries and requests from within an organisation and outside.
  • Proficiency in working with standard software packages, including Microsoft Word and Excel, or equivalent.
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to independently manage a complex and varied workload.
  • Good grasp of grammar, spelling and numeracy, including the ability to take responsibility for the accuracy and presentation of work.
  • Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills, and tact and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to confidently deliver presentations.
  • Ability to work in a team, working flexibly and supporting each other to deliver team goals.
