We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Rye Hill, as a Functional Skills (Maths) Teacher. This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information: HMP Rye Hill Prison is located in the rural setting of Willoughby, which is situated near Rugby in Warwickshire. It is a Category C prison that houses adult male inmates. The prison’s regime, facilities, and support services are designed to address the diverse needs of its population, promoting rehabilitation and reducing reoffending rates.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)
  • Creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
  • Achievement of quality targets
  • Producing accurate and timely reports
