Novus Gower is a leading prison education provider, recruiting a Cleaning Trainer to deliver an entry‑level, industry‑recognised qualification for learners looking to start out in cleaning roles. Trainer or teaching experience is preferred but not essential. You’ll need relevant hands‑on experience across the safe handling of cleaning materials and equipment, hygiene, and health & safety, along with a passion for sharing your knowledge and supporting learners to build confidence, aid rehabilitation, and improve future employability.

Site Information:

HMP Parc Prison is a Category B men’s prison located in Bridgend, Wales. The prison accommodates individuals who have been convicted of various offenses requiring secure custody and rehabilitation. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Have experience in the relevant vocational area
  • Hold or be willing to gain PTLLS qualification within 6 months
  • Hold or commit to gain a subject specific qualification to allow training to Level 3 within 2 years
  • Hold or commit to gain an assessor award required by relevant Awarding Bodies within 1 year
  • Hold or commit to gain an Internal Verifier award within 1 year
  • Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Hold or commit to gain a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy within 1 year
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to motivate self and learners
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working under own initiative
