The LTA has been the governing body of tennis in Britain since 1888 and our vision is to open tennis up to all different types of people. The competition team oversees the planning and delivery of all LTA staged competitions at an international and national level, as well as supporting regional, county, and local level competition activity. The team also oversees Padel competition, team competition, disability competition and associated GB representative teams. The team are responsible for servicing competition in Britain, which includes officiating, ratings (World Tennis Number) and rankings, rules and regulations and the digital systems to find and enter competition.
This role will play an important part in delivering against the new Competition Plan 2025‐29 and onwards. The primary aims of the role will be to support with tennis and padel competition measures and the Competition Digital Systems working with the LTA Digital Transformation team and the Competition Measures and Systems Manager. It is perfect for a student from a Technology, Digital, Sports Management or Analytical background that wants to help support digital enhancement in our Tennis and Padel competition landscape.
Key Accountabilities
- Support on aspects of tennis competition measures, including the operations of the World Tennis Number for GB and the LTA Rankings System.
- Support with the delivery of recommendations from the WTN review to scale adoption of WTN to drive more people, of all abilities to compete, more often and enhance their experience.
- Support with the LTA rankings system (tennis and padel) and make changes to improve the accuracy at each age group and competition grade.
- Support with the consideration of a Padel rating system to drive more people, of all abilities, to compete more often.
- Working with the LTA Digital Transformation team to support delivery of the recommendations of the competition digital review.
- Developing toolkits and providing support to LTA Registered Venues so more venues use the Competition Management System for their intra venue competition.

Accommodation Requirement
Please note this is an unpaid placement with £100 per week provided for travel expenses only. Successful applicants must already have access to accommodation within one hour of the office location (for example, a family or home address nearby). Daily commuting from Loughborough or the surrounding university area would not be suitable for this role.
