Location: Chatham

Focus: 1:1 Tuition for Secondary-Aged Students with SEMH (Year 10)

Provision Type: Educated Other Than at School (EOTAS) - 3 hours per day Term Time Only. Between 9:30am/10am and 12:30pm/1pm (additional work available for afternoons if required). Immediate Start to end of academic year continuing in September through to July 2026.

We are proud to be partnering with a forward-thinking alternative provision to recruit dedicated EOTAS Tutors to deliver personalised educational programmes to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including PTSD. These students are currently educated outside of a traditional school environment, and your role will be pivotal in helping them re-engage with learning and build brighter futures. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced educators looking to make a meaningful impact in a flexible, non-mainstream setting.

Role: As an EOTAS Tutor, you will work closely with secondary-aged learners, either one-to-one or in small groups, in community-based settings or at home. Your focus will be on promoting academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth while building strong relationships with both learners and their families. Students will require support with KS4 learning (Year 10 student) following permanent exclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons aligned with functional skills
  • Adapt your teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Support learning across a variety of settings, including homes and community venues
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and holistic support

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience supporting students with SEMH or similar complex needs
  • Solid knowledge of the secondary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Strong adaptability, empathy, and resilience in varied learning environments
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and trauma-informed practices
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred due to travel across settings
