Business Development Manager – Early Years Apprenticeships
£40,000 basic + up to £10,000 OTE | Remote, with a minimum of two office days per month in South West London | Full-time, permanent
LT Selection is recruiting on behalf of an established apprenticeship and training provider seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow its Early Years employer portfolio.
- This is a new-business-led role, weighted approximately
- 80% toward winning new employer partnerships and
- 20% toward developing existing accounts
. You will own the full sales cycle, from targeted prospecting and first conversation through to proposal, agreement and a successful handover to the account management team.
The role
- Research and target employers with a genuine requirement for Early Years apprenticeships and workforce-development solutions.
- Generate new opportunities through structured outbound activity across telephone, email, Linked In and relevant prospecting tools.
- Build credible relationships with nursery groups, childcare employers, HR teams, learning and development leads and senior decision-makers.
- Lead consultative discovery meetings to understand recruitment, retention, progression and skills-development needs.
- Present tailored apprenticeship and commercial training solutions clearly and confidently.
- Manage the full sales process, including proposals, presentations, negotiation, follow-up and conversion.
- Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, forecasting and conversion data within Hub Spot.
- Work closely with operational and account-management colleagues to ensure every new employer is handed over effectively.
- What success looks like
- Approximately 10 qualified employer meetings each week.
- Three to five new employer accounts each month.
- Twenty to twenty-five learner starts each month.
- Quarterly commercial-training sales.
- A strong and consistently managed proposal-to-sale conversion rate.
About you
- A proven record in B2B sales, business development or employer engagement.
- Experience managing a complete sales cycle rather than simply generating leads.
- Confident communication, presentation, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- A disciplined approach to CRM use, pipeline management and forecasting.
- A consultative style with the resilience and motivation required for a predominantly new-business role.
- An understanding of apprenticeships, funded training, funding rules, standards and compliance.
- Early Years, childcare or apprenticeship-sales experience would be a strong advantage.
- Confidentiality
The employer will remain confidential during the initial application and screening stage.
LT Selection will explain the organisation and opportunity fully to suitable candidates before any CV is shared, and no CV will be submitted without the candidate’s agreement.
