Adult Skills Business Development Manager – Employer & Community Engagement
LT Selection is recruiting for a funded training provider seeking strong employer and community engagement capability.
Liverpool City Region, with local community and employer visits. Salary, benefits, hours and contract arrangements to be confirmed.
The opportunity
Build trusted referral partnerships, engage employers and help eligible adults access suitable funded learning.
Convert local demand into viable learner cohorts and support progression towards work or further learning.
Responsibilities
- Build referral relationships with Jobcentre Plus, community organisations, housing providers, local authorities, charities and other relevant partners.
- Generate learner enquiries through outreach, partner meetings, information sessions, careers events and consistent follow-up.
- Understand learner goals and barriers; explain suitable programmes and support initial screening and a timely enrolment handover.
- Develop employer relationships to identify recruitment needs, training opportunities, interviews and progression routes.
- Plan recruitment with delivery teams around course content, start dates, locations and capacity.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, referral pipelines and forecasts; monitor enquiry-to-enrolment and start conversion.
- Work with delivery and support colleagues to reduce non-attendance and address participation barriers.
- Use approved information and follow safeguarding, inclusion and data-handling procedures.
Essential experience
- Experience in adult-skills learner recruitment, community engagement, employability or business development within funded training.
- Evidence of generating referrals or enrolments and converting relationships into measurable outcomes.
- Ability to establish credible local partnerships and engage adults with varied needs and circumstances.
- Working knowledge of funded learning, with eligibility and suitability checks referred to the relevant specialist team.
- Confident presentation, listening, follow-up, CRM and performance-reporting skills.
- Ability to organise local outreach and travel across the agreed Liverpool territory.
Desirable experience
- Established referral or employer networks across Liverpool City Region.
- Experience supporting unemployed adults, coordinating group starts or developing employer-linked progression.
- Information, advice and guidance qualification or relevant practical experience.
- Success in the role
An active partner network, eligible learner starts, reliable forecasts and supported progression.
Numerical targets, course offer and balance between community recruitment and employer sales will be confirmed.
