About the organisation
Our client is a growing, independent hair and beauty training provider in Solihull. It delivers practical, career-focused programmes and is expanding its apprenticeship provision. The organisation is seeking an experienced and motivated Hairdressing Apprenticeship Tutor to help develop the next generation of talented stylists.
The role
You will take day-to-day ownership of Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing Apprenticeship delivery. You will deliver engaging theory and practical training, assess apprentices’ competence, support their progress and ensure that delivery meets apprenticeship, awarding-organisation and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Level 2 and Level 3 hairdressing apprenticeship training.
- Teach and demonstrate current cutting, colouring, styling, consultation and client-care techniques.
- Assess apprentices through observation, professional discussion, written work, portfolios and other appropriate methods.
- Manage apprentice caseloads, individual learning plans, progress reviews, targets and timely achievement.
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching and pastoral support that builds learners’ technical competence, confidence and employability.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready learner records and assessment evidence.
- Work closely with employers, a prime training-provider partner and internal colleagues to keep apprentices on programme and progressing.
- Embed safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety and professional salon standards throughout delivery.
- Keep occupational knowledge current and contribute to continuous improvement of the apprenticeship provision.
Essential experience and qualifications
- Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Hairdressing.
- TAQA, CAVA, A1 or an equivalent assessor qualification.
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PTLLS, CET, DET or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant hairdressing-industry experience.
- At least two years’ experience working with apprenticeships and a sound understanding of Level 2 and Level 3 hairdressing apprenticeship delivery.
- Strong communication, organisation, learner-engagement and caseload-management skills.
- An enhanced DBS, or willingness and ability to obtain one.
- The right to work in the UK.
