This is an opportunity for an experienced quality professional who understands that strong compliance and quality assurance systems are not about creating barriers - they are about protecting learners, supporting delivery teams, and enabling sustainable growth. The organisation is seeking a Quality Lead (Compliance & Assurance) to take ownership of quality assurance systems, compliance processes, inspection readiness, and regulatory standards across apprenticeship and adult learning provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for quality assurance and compliance across the organisation
- Ensure provision consistently meets Ofsted, ESFA, DfE, and awarding body requirements
- Maintain inspection and audit readiness across all delivery
- Lead Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes and standardisation activity
- Develop and maintain robust quality assurance frameworks and cycles
- Monitor learner experience, retention, achievement, and progression data
- Lead Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs)
- Manage awarding body and EQA relationships
- Support delivery teams with clear expectations, guidance, and professional challenge
- Identify and mitigate quality and compliance risks early
- Ensure safeguarding, Prevent, and Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) standards are embedded throughout the learner journey
- Present quality insight and reports to senior leadership and governance teams
Essential Criteria
- Strong quality assurance and compliance experience within post-16 education
- Significant experience across apprenticeships and adult skills provision
- Strong understanding of Ofsted, ESFA, and funding rules
- Experience leading IQA and audit readiness activity
- Experience working with awarding bodies and EQAs
- IQA Qualification (Level 4)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse quality and performance data
- Experience supporting inspection readiness and regulatory compliance
Desirable
- Experience across multiple funding streams or provision types
- Exposure to employer-led or commercial training provision
- Experience acting as an Ofsted nominee
