About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-led Employer Engagement Manager to build strong partnerships with employers and create meaningful employment opportunities for adult learners. Working as part of the Employment & Skills division, you will play a key role in supporting unemployed adults into work by aligning employer needs with training provision and helping develop sustainable employment pathways. This role requires someone who is confident, target-driven, and passionate about social impact. You will work closely with internal teams and employers to connect talent with opportunity, support business growth, and promote a range of funded training solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Employer Relationship Development
- Promote funded training and employment programmes to employers across non-devolved regions
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing employer partners
- Introduce employers to Sector-Based Work Academies and pre-employment training offers
- Promote the benefits of hiring unemployed adults and providing placement opportunities
- Organise and attend employer meetings, work placements, job trials, and recruitment events
- Provide post-placement support to employers and learners to ensure retention and satisfaction
- Stay up to date on regional labour market trends and employer needs
- Support the strategic goals of the Employment & Skills division through employer engagement
- Collaborate with the senior management team to shape business development plans
- Contribute to organisational growth by achieving engagement and income targets
- Maintain effective tracking and reporting on employer activity and outcomes
- Work collaboratively with internal delivery teams to ensure effective learner-to-employer matching
- Represent the organisation at industry events, networking forums, and stakeholder meetings
Person Specification
- Experience in employer engagement, recruitment, or business development
- Proven ability to build and manage partnerships across a range of sectors
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence decision-makers
- Organised and able to manage a varied workload across multiple employer accounts
- IT proficient (Microsoft 365, CRM systems, Teams or Google equivalents)
- Self-motivated and target-driven with a solutions-focused approach
- Passionate about employability and supporting individuals into sustainable work
- Knowledge of employment support programmes or adult education
- Understanding of labour market barriers for unemployed or disadvantaged adults
