About the Opportunity

Our client is an established creative education and training provider specialising in creative, digital, media and vocational learning. They are seeking an Animation Lead Tutor to inspire and support learners across animation, games design, digital media and creative production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging animation, creative media and digital production lessons.
  • Support learner progression through high-quality teaching, feedback, tutorials and individual learning plans.
  • Deliver practical training in animation, rigging, skinning, modelling and creative production techniques.
  • Promote learner safety, wellbeing, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Record attendance, academic notes and learner updates accurately using internal systems.
  • Track learner progress and support learners to prepare for assessed end-of-year projects.
  • Use a range of assessment methods and provide clear, timely and constructive feedback.
  • Develop opportunities for cross-department creative projects and collaboration.
  • Support enrichment activity, industry visits, guest speakers and wider learner development.
  • Work towards strong learner retention, achievement and progression outcomes.
  • Undertake training to remain up to date with curriculum, awarding body and sector expectations.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C / 4 or above, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of animation production workflows.
  • Experience using Blender and/or Autodesk Maya.
  • Knowledge of animating, skinning, rigging and modelling.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Drawing, 2D art, concept art or texture creation experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage learners effectively.
  • Evidence of strong professional practice within a relevant creative or educational setting.
  • Teaching qualification or experience delivering education or training.
  • Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine animation-to-engine pipelines.
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling, texturing and game asset production.
  • Experience with Blender or Autodesk Maya for 3D modelling and animation.
  • Understanding of creative industry workflow, project pipelines and production standards.
  • Experience supporting young people or post-16 learners.
