A specialist consultancy is hiring a Digital Forensics Senior Associate to lead the delivery of forensic investigations and support the ongoing development of a growing Digital Forensics capability. This role suits someone hands-on technically, confident with clients, and comfortable running investigations end to end across corporate and private matters.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead forensic investigations from scoping through delivery, defining methodologies, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resourcing.
  • Preserve digital evidence in line with recognised standards, maintaining chain of custody and contemporaneous records.
  • Conduct forensic acquisition and analysis across endpoints and devices (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android), cloud platforms, and third-party/proprietary applications.
  • Deliver clear, defensible outputs through high-quality written reports and verbal briefings to senior stakeholders, including legal counsel and executive audiences.
  • Manage client relationships: set expectations, provide updates, communicate findings, and respond to challenge and questions.
  • Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure quality and consistency across casework.

What we’re looking for:

  • 4/5+ years’ professional experience in digital forensics, technical investigations, or forensic and intelligence consulting (private sector client work preferred).
  • Strong hands-on experience in forensic acquisition and analysis across computers and mobile devices.
  • Confident client communicator with experience scoping work, running updates, and delivering findings under tight deadlines.
  • Experience supporting litigation, regulatory and/or internal investigations, with exposure to legal counsel and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven report writing skills covering methodologies, technical findings, and conclusions.
  • Familiarity with forensic best practice (including ACPO-aligned principles), chain of custody, and contemporaneous record keeping.
  • Experience with common forensic toolsets (e.g. Cellebrite, Oxygen, AXIOM, X-Ways, FTK or similar).

Highly desirable:

  • Experience working with corporate environments and data sources (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS).
  • Strong third-party application analysis experience (WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal).
  • Case exposure across IP theft, fraud/financial crime, misconduct, bribery and corruption, defamation/reputation matters, or authenticity disputes.
  • Experience contributing to practice development: documenting new collection/analysis processes, researching new devices/platforms, and mentoring juniors.
  • Relevant certifications (vendor or industry) or demonstrable continuous learning in DFIR.

Package:

  • Competitive base salary (dependent on experience)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (+1 day per year of service up to 30)
  • Matching pension contribution up to 7% (up to 14% combined)
  • Life insurance (4x annual salary)
  • Private medical and dental insurance (taxable benefit) for you and your family
  • Virtual GP, EAP, gym discounts, and Headspace access
  • Enhanced parental support including maternity, paternity, and fertility treatment leave
