Who I’m looking For

My client is looking for someone with good energy, high ambition and a willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job. A technical mindset would certainly be an advantage, but what matters most is your ability to learn quickly, curiosity, problem-solving mindset and drive to build a career in cyber security. You don't need to know everything about working in cyber. What matters is that you’re keen to learn, take opportunities when they come and develop your technical skills along the way.

The Role

You’ll join a Microsoft-focused cyber security engineering team, working with enterprise customers to implement, maintain and improve their security environments. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain exposure to Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, cloud security and security automation, while working alongside experienced engineers and SOC teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Deploy and support Microsoft security technologies, particularly Defender and Sentinel.
  • Help assess and improve customer security configurations and environments.
  • Use KQL, scripting and automation to improve security operations.
  • Support SIEM, detection and incident response activities.
  • Investigate technical issues and analyse security data and logs.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to deliver security projects.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and customer reports.
  • Keep up with emerging security technologies and contribute ideas for improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • Some commercial or practical experience in cyber security, IT, infrastructure, networking or a related technical field.
  • An interest in Microsoft security technologies and cloud security.
  • Exposure to KQL, SIEM or scripting would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
  • A strong willingness to learn and develop technically.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Confident communication skills and strong written English.
  • A relevant Microsoft certification such as SC-200, AZ-500, AZ-104 or AZ-305 would be advantageous.

What’s On Offer

  • £40,000–£60,000
  • Fully remote working
  • Hands-on exposure to enterprise cyber security environments
  • Training and support from experienced security professionals
  • Microsoft-focused technical development
  • Clear opportunities to progress as your skills grow

This is a great opportunity for someone who has the drive and technical curiosity to build a career in cyber security, whether you’re already working in security or looking to take the next step into the field.
