Some data science roles are about optimising marketing campaigns or improving recommendation engines; this isn’t one of them. We’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist to work on highly secure, technically demanding projects where the questions are complex, the data is challenging and the outcomes genuinely matter. You’ll work alongside experts from a range of disciplines, using machine learning, AI and advanced analytics to solve problems that have real-world impact. You’ll be trusted to explore, experiment and develop practical solutions where there isn’t always a predefined answer.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll lead the design and delivery of advanced data science solutions, combining analytical thinking with strong engineering principles to build models that can be relied upon in production.
  • Your work could involve:
    • Developing machine learning models that solve complex operational challenges.
    • Working with structured, unstructured and streaming data to uncover meaningful insights.
    • Designing scalable data pipelines and production-ready AI solutions.
    • Collaborating directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to shape the right approach.
    • Evaluating emerging AI techniques and applying them where they deliver genuine value.
    • Building robust, maintainable Python solutions using modern engineering practices.
    • Helping shape technical direction while mentoring others and sharing knowledge across the team.

What we’re looking for:

  • We’re far more interested in how you think than simply the tools you’ve used. You’ll likely have:
    • At least five years’ commercial experience delivering data science or machine learning solutions.
    • A strong academic background in a STEM discipline.
    • Excellent Python skills and experience developing production-quality machine learning solutions.
    • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
    • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, CI/CD and version control.
    • Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL technologies.
    • The confidence to explain technical concepts clearly to a wide range of audiences.
    • A genuine curiosity for solving difficult problems and continuously learning.
    • Experience in consultancy or client-facing environments would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

If you’re motivated by technically challenging work, enjoy solving problems with no obvious answer, and want to see your expertise applied where it has genuine impact, you’ll find plenty to get excited about here. Interested? Then let’s talk!
