Key Responsibilities of an Incident Response Consultant:

  • Lead and coordinate response efforts for high-impact cyber incidents
  • Conduct forensic analysis of compromised systems, memory dumps, and network data
  • Provide clients with actionable insights on emerging threats and attacker tactics
  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders during response and recovery engagements
  • Support pre-sales efforts by contributing to bids, proposals, and client pitches

Key requirements of an Incident Response Consultant:

  • Proven hands-on experience managing and investigating cybersecurity incidents. Over 4 years in an incident response consulting position
  • Solid understanding of networks, operating systems, and key programming/scripting concepts
  • Familiarity with a wide range of security frameworks, tools, and methodologies
  • Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

Desirable Extras:

  • SC or DV clearance, or a willingness to obtain it
  • Certifications like; CREST Certified Incident Manager (CCIM), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • A degree (ideally postgraduate) in Cyber Security, Information Security, or a related STEM field
