We are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to build and maintain strong relationships with ethnic customer groups while driving the implementation of agreed marketing, brand, and distribution strategies. The role focuses on maximising product visibility through secondary placements and first-in-flow positioning for key drive brands. Additionally, the position requires full awareness of Regional Sales Manager (RSM) responsibilities and readiness to step into the role for succession planning purposes, including providing holiday cover when needed.
Working Hours
40 hours per week Monday β Friday, core hours of 9am β 5:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- To support and implement project-based work that is initiated by the sales, trade marketing or marketing teams.
- To support marketing activity, including MAC implementation, outside events and Festivals such as Melas, Ramadan & Diwali celebrations.
- 4 weekly store audits on both LT Foods and competitor brands, feeding back information to the business.
- Report on all competitor pricing or merchandising activity on a weekly basis.
- Ensure brands/ SKUs have correct share of space in store and implement plans to support category ownership.
- To ensure the Indian Retail Database is up to date and accurate.
- To develop and implement a Pioneer Call Plan on a weekly basis.
- To categorize customers and make recommendations about businesses that we should trade or build closer relationships with.
- To support and execute agreed merchandising initiatives in large/drive account stores who are customers of RSMs.
Requirements
- Of graduate calibre
- At least 1 year experience in Ethnic Sales or FMCG
- Builds strong relationships
- Demonstrates commercial awareness
- Demonstrates strong influencing and communication skills
- Demonstrates analysis & planning skills
- Holds a full driving licence
- Ideally multilingual (South Asian language)
