PRIMIS Mortgage Network are the largest dedicated Mortgage & Protection Network in the UK with some 3000 advisors and circa 1000 partner AR firms nationally. PRIMIS form part of the LSL Property Services plc group. We are recruiting for a new Financial Promotions Team Leader to join our Financial Promotions department. The team are an integral part of our large Risk and Compliance function.

The Financial Promotions Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the Financial Promotions function, ensuring financial promotions are assessed and approved in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and agreed service standards. Alongside leading a team of Financial Promotions Consultants, the role is accountable for maintaining high-quality standards, effective operational controls, and a culture of continuous improvement, whilst providing practical, commercially aware compliance support to Appointed Representative firms. Acting as the function’s technical lead, the Team Leader will promote positive customer outcomes, deliver exceptional broker service, and support the network’s vision to delight the broker by delivering best-in-class support.

The role is a hybrid role with 2 days per week required at our HQ in Solihull and 3 days per week from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Financial Promotions team, creating a high-performing, engaged and collaborative culture.
  • Manage team performance, recruitment, development, resource planning, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Financial Promotions function, ensuring service, productivity and quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Undertake financial promotions assessments and approvals where required, acting as the escalation point for complex or higher-risk matters.
  • Deliver and oversee the Financial Promotions quality assurance framework, identifying trends, training needs, and opportunities to strengthen controls.
  • Lead the operation of the AR Website & Social Media Licence programmes, including oversight of risk-based sample checking and third-party suppliers.
  • Act as technical lead for Financial Promotions, maintaining a strong working knowledge of Consumer Duty, The FCA Handbook (including PERG 8, MCOB and ICOBS), ASA codes and other relevant legislation.
  • Maintain Financial Promotions procedures, guidance, and knowledge resources, including the team SharePoint site and Forms, together with process simplification and automation.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, AR firms and external suppliers, providing responsive, practical, and commercially aware regulatory support.
  • Escalate material regulatory, operational or conduct risks appropriately, supporting robust governance and positive customer outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Essential Experience within a Financial Services Compliance environment.
  • CeMAP (or equivalent recognised industry qualification).
  • Good working knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements relevant to mortgage and/or insurance distribution, including MCOB and ICOBS.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply sound, proportionate judgement.
  • Desirable Experience of Financial Promotions assessment or oversight.
  • Previous people management, coaching, or supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of Consumer Duty and its practical application.
  • Familiarity with PERG 8 and the FCA Financial Promotions regime.
  • Experience of quality assurance, monitoring, or operational control frameworks.
