Part of LSL Property Services plc’s Financial Services division, PRIMIS Mortgage Network are the largest Mortgage and Protection Network in the UK with circa 1000 Mortgage & Insurance firms as business partners and approaching 3000 advisors working alongside us. We are keen to recruit a Product Governance Partner to join our first Risk and Compliance function here at PRIMIS / LSL’s Financial Services division.

Role Purpose

The purpose of the Product Governance team within the Compliance Operations Function of Primis Mortgage Network is to ensure the products offered by providers on our panel support our members in delivering good outcomes which offer fair value for customers. This is a dynamic and varied role in which the role holder will be required to work with both internal and external stakeholders to assist the Head of Product Governance in meeting our regulatory requirements through the effective deployment of the Product Governance Framework. The role holder will act as the key point of contact for internal colleagues, appointed representatives and providers, for products within their span of control.

Main Accountabilities

  • Business partner to key stakeholders within other areas of LSL Financial Services Division, our external provider partners, and our appointed representatives.
  • Acting as SME for the products we distribute within your span as requested by the Head of Product Governance.
  • Under the guidance of the Head of Product Governance, you will be responsible for the product governance framework across your allocated span of providers.
  • A key element of the framework is testing of the products and services we distribute to ensure they meet our target market and provide fair value to customers.
  • The role holder will be analytical as well as curious, with an ability to think outside the box using skills such as horizon scanning of other sources such as rhetoric from the FCA, FOS, industry press.
  • The role holder will be required to be product agnostic being able to adapt and apply the frameworks against differing internal and regulatory requirements relevant to the product set in their spans.
  • Ability to confidently communicate complex technical and regulatory matters both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • As part of the role, there will be an ad hoc requirement to provide oversight to the strategic relationship team with respect to provider onboarding to ensure robust due diligence has taken place prior to appointment of a new provider/product set to the panel.
  • Working with appointed representatives to execute any exceptions processes such as off panel requests or fee/commission tolerance exceptions.
  • To support project work/work of a similar nature or complexity as required by the Head of Product Governance.

Knowledge and Expertise required

  • Working in a regulated environment where the requirement of strong record keeping is of paramount importance.
  • Working knowledge of FCA source books including MCOB, PROD and PRIN.
  • Success in a similar role (data collation, project co-ordination/support, document control, oversight).
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous product governance/product experience gained in distribution or product manufacturing.
  • Experience in writing/maintaining frameworks and policies.
  • Experience of working as part of a project team in an operational capacity.

Essential requirements

  • CeMAP or equivalent qualified.
