Trading since 1989, e.surv Chartered Surveyors is the UK's number one residential surveyor and the largest provider of property risk expertise and residential surveying services. We complete more than one property inspection every 12 seconds and employ over 600 surveyors from Land’s End to John O’Groats and Northern Ireland. This gives us the flexibility to offer nationwide coverage combined with invaluable local knowledge.
This is a hybrid role combining hands‑on technical data management with commercial oversight of data suppliers, SaaS platforms, and licensing agreements. The primary objective of the role is to ensure enterprise data is secure, accurate, accessible, and effectively managed across the organisation. We are looking for someone with strong technical capability who enjoys being operationally involved in the data environment, alongside the ability to work closely with business stakeholders and third‑party vendors. Experience with cloud‑based data platforms, particularly Azure, is essential, along with strong stakeholder management skills and a solid understanding of GDPR and data governance principles. Experience within the property, surveying, or real estate sector would be highly advantageous.
Main Accountabilities
- Manage the integrity, security, and availability of enterprise data
- Oversee and support ETL processes and data integration pipelines
- Monitor, maintain, and optimise data platforms, data warehouses, and system integrations
- Troubleshoot data quality, integration, and reporting issues
- Work with large datasets and support reporting requirements across the business
- Maintain and improve data governance, accuracy, and accessibility
- Manage data licensing, supplier relationships, SaaS platforms, and cost optimisation
- Support delivery of data projects, migrations, and platform enhancements
- Identify and implement improvements to data processes and reporting capability
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and third‑party providers
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and data governance requirements
Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong experience in data management or data operations
- Hands‑on experience with ETL and data integration tools/workflows
- Strong SQL skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Experience working within Azure cloud environments
- Knowledge of data warehousing, APIs, and enterprise system integrations
- Experience troubleshooting data, integration, and reporting issues
- Understanding of data governance, GDPR, and data security principles
- Experience with enterprise reporting platforms and reporting tools
- Vendor management and SaaS contract management experience
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work across both technical and non-technical teams
