LSH Auto UK Limited is seeking a hands-on and driven Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Used Car Preparation Centre in Stockport, supporting both the Mercedes-Benz Used Car Programme and the BYD franchise. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring operational excellence, maintaining business continuity, and enhancing performance across all preparation, technical, and logistics functions. You will work closely with an established leadership team, providing guidance, structure, and support to maximise efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Hours: 45 hours per week
Salary: £63,000 OTE
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership across the Used Car Preparation Centre, ensuring vehicles are prepared to brand and regulatory standards.
- Support and oversee an established leadership team including Workshop Control, Technicians, and Logistics.
- Drive productivity, efficiency, and quality across all preparation processes.
- Ensure seamless co-ordination between departments to meet business targets and deadlines.
- Maintain strong oversight of stock flow, vehicle readiness, and turnaround times.
- Act as a hands-on operator, stepping into operational activity where required to maintain continuity.
- Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational performance with wider business objectives.
- Support the integration and operational delivery of the growing BYD franchise within the centre.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in automotive operations, ideally within a dealership or vehicle preparation environment.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing or supporting multi-functional teams.
- Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to lead from the front.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of workshop operations, vehicle logistics, and preparation processes.
- Ability to drive performance through data, KPIs, and continuous improvement.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and support an established team.
- Experience with premium automotive brands (e.g., Mercedes-Benz) and/or emerging EV brands (e.g., BYD) is advantageous.
