ROLE SUMMARY
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, passionate software engineer with QA automation experience to work on our Foreign Exchange trading platforms. This is an individual‑contributor role and you will be part of the team that drives the design and development of our low‑latency, high‑volume trading systems. You will learn how the FX market operates and help create a robust, automated testing framework.

WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING

  • Assisting in the design, enhancement and testing of the trading system components.
  • Working with stakeholders and business owners to continuously improve our product offerings.
  • Demonstrating a consistent focus on quality through the creation and execution of automated tests.
  • Working within an agile team, finding innovative ways to make your work more effective.
  • Helping application support teams troubleshoot production issues.

WHAT YOU\'LL BRING

Technical Skills

  • Solid core Java experience
  • Strong multithreading skills
  • Knowledge of development tooling, e.g., unit test framework, source control, build tools
  • Java/Groovy programming – maintaining existing regression test suites
  • Proficient in Unix scripting

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Perl, database/SQL, FIX, multicast, socket programming, middleware
  • Performance and stress testing – latency benchmarking, capacity testing
  • Packet capture tools – Corvil and network analysis

Personal

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent team player, effective partner across the organisation
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, self‑starter

Education/Experience

  • Extensive software engineering experience
  • QA automation experience
  • A relevant degree is desirable, but experience and the right approach to work are just as important
