Product Lead, Tooling

Operations are hiring for a Product Lead to hold end‑to‑end responsibility for developing capabilities product and work management tooling, leading definition and planning through production, release, and end of lifecycle.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping how our product and project teams plan, manage and complete effectively, working closely with key team members across the business to ensure the tooling supports alignment with Group standards and delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads development teams to complete the roadmap for work management solutions, driving governance, standardisation, data quality, and process alignment.
- Drives adherence of the development lifecycle through collaboration with development and application support teams, supporting high‑quality changes and robust development and testing practices.
- Collaborates with the Product Manager to incorporate requirements into the roadmap, making data‑driven decisions, prioritising work accordingly, and ensuring alignment with the Group Delivery Disciplines.
- Develops specialisation and expertise in specific product areas, contributing to the design, development, launch, and post‑launch activities of new or enhanced propositions, products, or services.
- Reviews and supports the implementation of enhancements to existing offerings, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with user needs.
- Engages key cross‑functional customers, communicates roadmaps, and gathers feedback from the delivery community to ensure timely, in‑scope delivery of product features using agile and hybrid methodologies.
- Manages dependencies and ensures alignment across teams for successful proposition, product, and service delivery.
- Owns the development and execution of the product tooling strategy, ensuring alignment with Group standards and promoting transparency and automation.
- Provides analytical and task‑specific support to key users and customers, including requirements drafting and validation activities.
- Supports the launch of the integration platform and adoption of tools that are integrated as part of the wider overall product strategy.
- Works closely with vendors and third‑party providers to incorporate industry feedback into future roadmap prioritisation, and ensure tools evolve in line with market trends and organisational needs.
Key Behaviours and Skills
- 3+ years of related experience managing enterprise tooling, product operations and/or project management.
- Expertise in work management tools – Clarity, Planview, Asana, Rally, Jira and/or other comparable platforms.
- Good understanding of integration platform tools – Dell Boomi, Tasktop (Planview Viz), Connect All, and/or other comparable platforms.
- Strong knowledge and experience of formal project management methodologies, project planning, project financial and resource management, and how tooling supports their delivery at scale.
- Proven experience working in large matrixed global organisations, ideally within financial services or technology sectors.
- Experience supporting tooling integrations, migrations or consolidations across complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated success in driving tool adoption, change management, and user training programmes at scale.
- Excellent customer management skills and ability to build trusting relationships with senior leaders to understand their drivers and collaborate effectively to complete strategic goals.
- Strong leadership and team management experience with ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong computer literacy, including advanced knowledge of the MS Office and Power Platform, and a willingness and skill to learn new tools quickly.
