Role, purpose and impact
You will help to advance LSEG’s policy agenda and profile alongside key policy stakeholders, specifically focusing on data and technology issues. Working in the UK Middle East and Africa (UK/MEA) team, you will be a strategic adviser on reputational issues and business initiatives impacting LSEG, our customers and our stakeholders. This role is central to GRRS’ mission to anticipate, develop and implement advocacy strategies to shape a supportive policy environment for LSEG.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement for the team on areas specific to data and technology – such as digital trade, cross-border data flows, privacy, and AI.
  • Advise and partner with colleagues across the business on key policy and regulatory developments in the UK.
  • Provide support on additional policy areas within the team, including sustainable finance, capital markets, operational resilience or geopolitics.
  • Contribute to stakeholder mapping, engagement planning, drafting consultation responses, and developing policy positions.
  • Work alongside colleagues in the GRRS team globally to ensure a consistent approach.
Desirable Skills
  • Excellent knowledge in financial services regulation, data/technology/AI or another area of policy and regulation
  • A good political acumen and a strong understanding of Whitehall, Westminster and the main UK political parties
  • Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand technical issues and explain them simply to a range of stakeholders.

  • Work with other members of the GRRS UK/MEA team and other regional teams.
