This Group Risk role sits within the Second Line of Defence, where we provide independent oversight of non-financial and strategic risks across the Workflows and Communities businesses within the Data & Analytics (D&A) division. Based in London, the role works with the Head of Risk for D&A Workflows and Communities, covering LSEG’s flagship Workspace product and associated strategic partnerships and initiatives including: A.I. integration; next-generation product development; and evolution of the cloud infrastructure. Workspace provides access to the broadest and deepest coverage of financial data, news, analytics and efficiency tools - all in a highly customised A.I. assisted experience on desktop, web and mobile. We're looking for candidates who are curious about our ambitious business and want to influence 'Safe Growth' in a rapidly changing industry.
What you'll be doing:
- End-to-end risk oversight: Maintain oversight of product, platform, and supporting infrastructure risks, including BAU risk monitoring, incident trend analysis, and key risk indicators.
- Risk integration in change & strategy: Provide independent Second Line input on emerging, strategic, and change risks (e.g. new platforms, products, migrations), ensuring risk considerations are embedded in design, development, and client transition.
- Technology, data & AI risk assessment: Identify and challenge risks across technology architecture, including cloud, data architecture, data rights, entitlements, and AI-related considerations.
- Risk framework ownership & maturity: Drive the evolution and consistent application of the Enterprise Risk Framework across the Workspace business, ensuring alignment with organisational standards.
- First Line partnership & challenge: Support and challenge the First Line in maintaining robust Risk and Control Assessments (RCA), control inventories, and effective remediation of control weaknesses.
- Governance, remediation & assurance: Ensure risks outside appetite are clearly defined, remediated, and tracked through governance forums, with strong engagement across all three lines of defence.
- Insight generation & investigation: Lead topical risk investigations and provide forward-looking insights to improve risk visibility and decision-making.
You’ll bring:
- Deep experience in enterprise risk management within financial services, fintech or data services, with solid grasp of financial markets, products, and client ecosystems.
- Proven expertise in large-scale technology transformation, including agile delivery, with the ability to embed risk thinking into strategic change initiatives.
- Solid grounding in modern technology stacks, data architectures, and AI development/integration, with the ability to assess associated risks and trade-offs.
- Sound judgement in balancing complex, competing factors to drive pragmatic, risk-informed outcomes.
- Ability to translate complex risk, technology, and data topics into clear, concise, committee-ready insights and recommendations.
- Efficiency at operating within dynamic environments, building relationships across various internal functions, and adapting to evolving business priorities.
