Purpose: Manages, develops and maintains quantitative models, supporting strategic decision making around the direction new models to the portfolio for the Market Structure team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Contributes to the development of, and promotes use of, a new generation of quantitative analysis, trading insights, flow analytics and execution consulting products, through quantitative model development, validation and curation.
- Develops analytics and research tools autonomously, taking a well-rounded view of opportunities, strategic insights and business risks.
- Responds to internal and external enquiries related to model construction, development and generated insights.
- Develops a good knowledge of all LSEG trading products and services, to complement expert knowledge in equities trading market structure.
- Builds senior internal and external relationships with client groups, and is seen as a subject matter expert both internally and externally.
- Validates work of Senior Associates and Associates and supports in making informed decisions regarding the direction of future projects and developments.
- Develops and maintains relationships with the Development, Product, Sales and Marketing functions ensuring effective communication.
- Leads team members and is responsible for performance reviews and development.
- Utilises subject matter expert knowledge and uses a variety of technologies (e.g. Python, SQL) to turn model ideas into a well organised and accessible code base.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience or Ph.D. or equivalent experience in a quantitative field.
- Significant experience in programming (particularly in Python and SQL).
- Significant experience in a Quantitative Research role in Equities & ETF trading.
- Previous experience working for a primary exchange group focusing on Equities & ETF trading, highly desirable.
- Track record of producing external thematic research also helpful.
