Role Summary
This Platform Engineer will develop and maintain Kubernetes‑based container and hybrid cloud platform services for real‑time market data applications. The role involves design, build, migration planning and operational support, delivered within an agile product team.
Responsibilities
- Own the production operation of Kubernetes and hybrid cloud platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and stability.
- Implement and evolve monitoring, alerting and observability across clusters and supporting infrastructure.
- Analyse platform behaviour under load, identify risks and drive proactive improvements.
- Support incident response, root cause analysis and post‑incident actions for Kubernetes‑based services.
- Partner with platform engineers and application teams to ensure production readiness and smooth onboarding.
- Improve automation, runbooks and operational tooling to reduce manual intervention.
- Act as a Kubernetes production SME, advising on best practice and operational standards.
- Influence platform roadmaps through data‑driven operational insights.
Qualifications
- Proven enterprise Kubernetes, container orchestration and cloud‑native networking experience at large production scale.
- Strong experience operating large‑scale Linux‑based platforms in hybrid or cloud environments.
- Solid operational understanding of containerised workloads and Kubernetes environments.
- Experience diagnosing performance, latency and availability issues across complex distributed systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git‑based workflows.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure automation and configuration management (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, scripting).
- Clear communication of technical issues to engineering and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working across multiple workstreams and responding to operational priorities.
- Experience with Agile delivery environments and tools such as Jira, Confluence and GitLab.
