The role is based in London and reports to the Group Tax Reporting & Compliance Leader (Juliet Coombs). The position will have overall responsibility for the group's consolidated IFRS tax accounting and reporting, including cash tax and ETR forecasting. The group operates in over 60 countries and encompasses 350+ entities. The role will be a lead contact with our external auditors and will work closely with the Group Reporting and Accounting Policy team, the financial controller community, and the wider tax team on delivering all aspects of consolidated tax reporting. We work collaboratively across Finance, Group Reporting and Tax to produce accurate, high‐quality group tax reporting and to support informed decision‐making at senior levels. We are continuing to strengthen our tax reporting processes and systems, and this role will play a key part in crafting how we do this as the Group evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of all aspects of consolidated IFRS tax accounting and reporting, including calculation of the Global AETR, Interim and Annual Tax provisions, reconciliation of deferred tax assets and liabilities and preparation of financial statement disclosures.
- Present half year and annual results to senior management and external auditors.
- Key point of contact for external auditors, coordinating their review of Annual and Interim Tax provisions.
- Lead all aspects of company tax risks including assessment and communication of potential tax exposure to management. Review and incorporate tax reserves into the tax provision.
- Work with FP&A to forecast cash tax and ETR. Manage and consolidate quarterly updates and forecasts of tax provision for consolidated group.
- Provide tax accounting advice related to M&A & corporate restructuring transactions.
- Manage and optimise tax provision technology, in particular as part of LSEG's ongoing implementation of the Oracle suite.
- Internal risk management: Manage and maintain the control framework covering all aspects of group reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
- ACA, with strong background in tax accounting and consolidated reporting preferably within a UK listed group.
- Detailed knowledge of IFRS accounting framework.
- Experience with accounting systems (Oracle FCCS & Fusion and HFM) and tax consolidation tools (Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud Services, Onesource Tax Provision).
- Tax experience in a multinational corporate tax environment.
- A high degree of organisation and ability to thrive in a fast‐paced environment.
- Ability to take the initiative and proactively drive towards the goals of the team.
- Proven track record to manage senior internal partners.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate and co-ordinate with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels.
