The Insurance Manager will support the Head of Corporate Insurance with the delivery of the Group's global insurance strategy, ensuring that LSEG maintains comprehensive, efficient and well‐governed insurance coverage across all business areas where required. This role is responsible for assessing group‐wide insurance requirements, handling renewal processes, supporting claims handling, and partnering with business and functional partners to ensure strong first‐line‐of‐defence ownership of insurance risks. The role provides subject‐matter expertise to internal partners and assists with ensuring LSEG's insurance programmes support the Group's strategic, operational and regulatory objectives.
The Corporate Insurance team supports these objectives by ensuring appropriate risk transfer strategies are in place, maintaining positive relationships with brokers, insurers and internal partners, and maintaining robust and effective governance processes. This role is within a small, high‐performing team reporting into Group Treasury.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external partners to gather and review information for corporate insurance arrangements.
- Assist with the negotiation and placement of LSEG's corporate insurance arrangements and directly manage some specific insurance placements to ensure an efficient multinational global insurance programme.
- Handle insurance portfolio administration, including insurance premium payments, local policy issuance and supporting local offices with multinational requirements.
- Manage and develop positive relationships with key insurance partners (including brokers and insurers).
- Support the Head of Corporate Insurance with Mergers and Acquisitions activity, including insurance due diligence and integration.
- Support claims processes where required, including crisis response.
- Review and advise the business regarding contractual insurance obligations placed on the Group.
- Identify and work with the organisation to develop practices and procedures that ensure risks are managed effectively from an insurance viewpoint.
- Keep procedures up to date and ensure transparency amongst internal partners.
- Identify areas for improved insurance risk management practices across the Group and support the embedding of related processes across the organisation to mitigate insurance risk.
- Identify new insurable risks and make recommendations for effective management of risks.
- Represent LSEG in external meetings with brokers and insurers, and within the wider insurance market by being an active member of Airmic.
- Handle any other corporate insurance matters relating to the business as the need arises.
- Deputise for the Head of Corporate Insurance as and when required.
Behaviours And Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience of partner management within a large, complex or global organisation.
- Extensive experience working in an insurance related capacity. Financial Lines experience is preferable.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of global insurance markets and risk transfer mechanisms.
- Familiarity with risk frameworks and first‐line/second‐line responsibilities.
- Strong organisational skills, and ability to prioritise effectively under pressure to ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Willingness to embrace use of AI and other tooling.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Risk, Law or related field.
- Professional insurance qualification (e.g., ACII) is highly desirable.
