Engineering Graduate Programme (Backend)

Our Engineering Graduate Programme provides the ideal springboard for an exciting and significant career in global financial markets technology. To be eligible you must be a final year undergraduate or Masters student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline and have completed all the requirements of your course before August/September 2027 or a fresh graduate in class of 2026.

While we offer a wide range of technology roles, for these positions, we are looking for candidates who are interested in Back End Development and familiar with one of the programming languages Java, Python and databases like SQL. We seek to match your interests, skills and background to the developer roles available. We will also support you in discovering more about the different areas of LSEG that interest you most by connecting you with various departments so that you can learn more about them.

Our Engineering Graduate Programme is a 12-month development opportunity for the Tech Savvy. Fast-track your technical journey, learn and work with our technology gurus, and develop your career in a leading fintech company.

• Progress through a 12-month development journey aiming to build foundational skills that are key for your future success
• Build your foundational knowledge of LSEG, Financial Markets and the business during your global induction
• 'Engineering Bootcamp' week to immerse you in the business and Engineering principles

• Meet in person with your cohort at ‘Ignite’, the programme mid-point skills offsite. Explore key knowledge areas and skills
• Access opportunities to earn industry recognized qualifications, including 5 study days during programme

Our graduates join us on a permanent basis, and from day one you will be aligned to a division, which will allow you to develop within a secure framework. During the recruitment process we will get to know your skills and interest and how they align to the needs of the business, to allow us to place you in the right division.

What we are looking for:

• You will have a strong interest in technology proven either via your work experience, extracurricular activities, or academic studies.
• You should have a demonstrable interest in financial markets, which you’ve built through your studies, work experience or extracurricular activities.
• A curiosity for data and an ability to analyse information to draw conclusions and propose solutions.
• Individuals who can connect the dots and think strategically.
• The environment we work in is fast paced, you’ll need to demonstrate focus, resilience and the flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
• People who can collaborate with others, using their communication skills in the process.
• Ideal candidates will have the rights to work in the UK without restrictions for the duration of the graduate programme and joins us on a permanent basis from day one.
• We are considering candidates beyond the core software degrees (e.g. computer science, software engineering, Mathematics and Informatics) and candidates with physics, engineering, electronic degree who can demonstrate an interest in Technology as evidenced by extracurriculars or work experience, or personal projects can apply.
