We’re building next‑generation Risk Intelligence platforms that enable customers to make trusted decisions at scale, in real time. As a Director of Engineering, you will define and drive the technology and product engineering strategy across a portfolio of products—owning outcomes from 0→1 innovation through 1→n scale and platformization.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and execute engineering strategy: Own the multi‑year vision and roadmap for Risk Intelligence products and platforms, aligning with customer value, market trends, and business outcomes while evolving products into scalable platforms.
  • Drive innovation at scale: Oversee the lifecycle from 0→1 experimentation to enterprise‑scale platforms, ensuring strong problem framing, rapid validation, and continuous evolution to meet global, multi‑tenant needs.
  • Lead through leaders: Build and scale a high‑performing leadership bench, fostering accountability, empowerment, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver engineering excellence: Establish standards for architecture, reliability, observability, and operational maturity; drive SLO‑based practices and continuous improvement using data (e.g., DORA metrics).
  • Own business and operational outcomes: Ensure predictable delivery, cost efficiency, and ROI; lead portfolio planning and prioritization while balancing speed, quality, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Architect for scale and flexibility: Guide strategic decisions on platforms, data, APIs, event‑driven systems, and cloud; drive build vs. buy decisions and ensure long‑term scalability and interoperability.
  • Influence across the organization: Partner with senior stakeholders and represent engineering in executive forums to align with regulatory, risk, and business priorities.
  • Build a high‑performance culture: Promote innovation, inclusion, and accountability while advancing engineering productivity, developer experience, and talent engagement.

What You’ll Bring

  • 12–18+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5–8+ years in engineering leadership roles.
  • Proven success leading multiple teams or organizations, delivering complex distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong track record of defining and executing technology strategy aligned to business outcomes.
  • Experience scaling products from early‑stage innovation to enterprise platforms.
  • Deep expertise in modern architectures (cloud‑native, APIs, event‑driven systems, data platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through leaders, influencing across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, cost optimization, and investment tradeoffs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive‑level influence.

How We’ll Measure Success

  • Business & product impact: Revenue growth, customer adoption, retention, satisfaction, and faster time‑to‑first‑value (TTFV) toward strong product‑market fit.
  • Engineering excellence: Improved DORA metrics (lead time, deployment frequency, reliability), high service reliability, and consistent SLO attainment.
  • Organizational health: Strength of leadership bench, effective succession planning, and strong employee engagement, growth, and retention.
  • Operational efficiency: Optimized engineering costs (cloud, tooling), with predictable, high‑quality portfolio delivery.

Technologies You and the Organization May Use

  • Backends & APIs: .NET, Java, Go, Node.js; REST/gRPC; event‑driven architectures.
  • Frontends: React, Next.js, design systems.
  • Cloud & Platform: Azure/AWS, containers, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code.
  • Data & Observability: Distributed data systems, streaming, metrics/logs/traces.

Ways of Working

  • Hybrid collaboration with focused in‑person sessions for strategy, architecture, and high‑impact alignment moments.
  • Emphasis on autonomy, clarity, and outcomes over process.

Leadership Principles (Director‑level expectations)

  • Think in systems: Optimize for org and platform outcomes, not just team outputs.
  • Lead through influence: Align diverse stakeholders toward a common vision.
  • Data‑driven decisions: Use metrics, customer insights, and experimentation to guide strategy.
  • Own the business outcome: Engineering is accountable for both technology and business impact.
