With specific expertise in AI, Data Science and Natural Language Processing (NLP), this pre‑sales role collates and synthesises requirements to design and present innovative end‑to‑end solution options to enable deal closure and sell value. The Solution Consultant supports the sales motion through deep knowledge of specific customer workflows and relevant technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Bring specialist domain expertise in big data processing, AI, Data Science and NLP to complex customer engagements including developing use‑cases, working with professional services, third‑party solutions, and/or integration with client data engineering.
  • Provide expertise across technical, product, content and data pipeline workflows to shape solutions (e.g., ideation, clarification, specification, documentation, and solution technical design).
  • Understand customer‑specific AI and Data Science use cases and data requirements through direct engagement with customers, partners and third parties.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders (Partners / Professional Services / Proposition) to meet customer solution needs.
  • Run detailed technical customer presentations/workshops for complex proposition deals.
  • Work with Professional Services to deliver Proof of Concepts, including development/integration work.
  • Own and define customer solution proposals and statements of work.
  • Ensure collaboration with post‑sales professional services, implementation and customer success teams.

Qualifications

  • University degree with Information Technology or Engineering background.
  • Data Science expertise and experience focused on Natural Language Processing projects.
  • Understanding and practical experience of applying common programming and scripting languages.
  • Previous pre‑sales experience over software and technical products is highly valued.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of the product selling cycle.
  • Basic knowledge of web protocols such as HTTP, XML, and JSON.
  • Knowledge of the financial industry and understanding of buy‑side, sell‑side, wealth, etc.
  • Knowledge of data feeds for finance industry and regulation of the finance industry.
  • Experience in working with Web Service APIs and WebSocket APIs.
  • Confident programming in Python for quick prototyping and showcasing POCs.
  • Working knowledge of NLP libraries in Python, R, Spark and related data science stack.
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL databases and familiarity of data ingestion, data munging activities.
  • Experience working with AWS and GCP services for various activities in the data science workflow.
  • Working knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch.
  • Broad understanding of Transfer Learning Models and its application to alternative data in Finance.
  • Good understanding of NLP modelling concepts and ability to implement off‑the‑shelf NLP models for specific use cases.
  • Ideally experience supporting the sale of software/data solutions in complex and challenging environments.
