LSEG is seeking a Senior Manager in Penetration Testing to lead and drive our internal Penetration Testing team with a high focus on high performance and technical excellence. This role is responsible for building and managing a team of internal penetration testers, as well as technical SMEs who oversee external partners conducting penetration testing. The successful candidate will be a deeply technical leader, experienced in managing high-performing technical teams within large enterprises. They will also be adept at managing senior stakeholders and continuously pushing the boundaries of offensive security capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage LSEG's Penetration Testing team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and high performance.
  • Develop and execute a cutting-edge penetration testing strategy, leveraging advanced offensive security techniques.
  • Provide strong technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of security testing processes, incorporating the latest tools, tactics, and procedures as well as automation where necessary.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across the organization, including executives, security leadership, engineering teams, and business units, to communicate security risks and testing results effectively.
  • Oversee the management of third-party penetration testing vendors through the technical managers, ensuring assessments meet the highest standards of quality and depth.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex penetration testing findings, leading advanced technical analysis and supporting remediation efforts if necessary.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats, offensive security research, and adversarial techniques, integrating relevant advancements into the penetration testing program.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuously enhancing the team's skill set through training, research, and hands-on engagement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in leading high-performing technical teams in large enterprise environments.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise in penetration testing or similar (e.g., red teaming).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives and communicate technical risks in business terms.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving technical improvements and enhancing penetration testing methodologies through automation and advanced adversarial simulation.
  • Deep technical proficiency in offensive security methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of advanced attack vectors and real-world cyber threats.
  • Experience in managing third-party vendors and external penetration testing engagements ensuring high-quality, in-depth security assessments.
