Role and responsibilities: This role is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to global financial markets and risk management by leading a small team which performs an important function supporting the LCH CRO, Deputy CRO and the broader Risk team. The Risk Governance team is responsible for setting the agenda, compiling materials, recording decisions and tracking follow-up actions for all LCH Risk Committees. At executive level the scope of responsibility includes the Executive Risk Committee (ERCo) and its sub-committees the Resilience Committee (ResCo), Market Risk Committee (MRC), and Credit Risk Working Committee (CRC). At Board level the scope includes the Board Risk Committee (RiskCo) and Operational Resilience Committee (ORC). The successful candidate will also be expected to act as an advisor to the management team on risk policy and framework matters and to prepare relevant content on focus topics for risk governance meetings as and when required. The agenda for risk governance meetings will be very broad and covers both financial and non-financial risk. It will include policy/framework reviews, new product proposals, model changes, risk deep dives and thematic analysis. The role will have a high degree of exposure to senior members of the Risk department, the management team of LCH and LCH Board members.
Skills and experience required: Given the degree of senior colleague interaction, the role requires a high degree of polish in communication skills including writing, presentations and in person interactions. Basic technical knowledge covering financial markets and risk management concepts is expected. Education – preferably a Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, ideally in Finance, Economics or similar. Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise; ability to work to deadlines. Ability to lead and develop a small team.
