About the role: We are looking for a Distance Learning Tutor to support adult learners studying the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling. This role focuses on delivering high-quality online support, helping learners stay engaged, make progress and successfully achieve their qualification. You will work with a diverse cohort of adult learners, providing guidance, feedback and structured support throughout their programme.

You will manage a caseload of learners studying remotely, supporting them through course materials, assessments and their overall learning journey. The role requires a strong focus on communication, organisation and consistent learner support in an online environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide structured online support to learners, guiding them through course content and assessments
  • Monitor learner progress and engagement, intervening where required
  • Mark and assess work in line with college standards and timescales
  • Deliver online tutorials, group sessions and one-to-one support
  • Develop and maintain learning resources and course materials
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and outcomes
  • Support learner progression into further study or employment
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality and online learning policies
  • Contribute to CPD and team meetings, and support programme promotion where required

What we are looking for

  • A relevant qualification in Counselling or a related subject
  • A teaching qualification (Level 5 or equivalent)
  • Assessor and verifier qualifications (A1/V1 or equivalent)
  • Experience of delivering distance or online learning to adult learners
  • Strong digital skills and confidence using online learning platforms
  • The ability to provide clear, constructive written feedback
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • A supportive and learner-focused approach
